The message below was sent to members of AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners) and is now being passed on to the WA NAPNAP members who are members of this website.  The house bill (which mirrors the Senate bill) states:

An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner may sign and attest to any certificates, cards, forms, or other required documentation that a phsycian may sign, so long as it is within the advanced registered nurse practitioner's scope of practice."

The email states:
As you may know, the ARNP signature authority companion bills HB 1259/SB 5682 have continued to advance since our last email update.  To become law, these bills must pass additional critical steps and receive a signature from Governor Inslee. Can you please click here (note: click below in red)  to take action and ask our Senators to vote yes on these bills before the end of the legislative session? Your voice matters and could make the critical difference in streamlining care for our patients and authorizing ARNPs to sign and attest to documents within their scope of practice.

More information on the bills is available here for HB 1259 and here for SB 5682.

Thank you,Nancy Lawton, MN, ARNP, FNP AANP State Representative, Washington
