How many narcotics do you prescribe?

Interesting announcement from the CDC on narcotic prescriptions.....Our state isn't the lowest in number of Rx's written, but at least we're not the highest.  ARNP's in Washington State have Prescriptive Authority for schedule V thru Schedule II narcotics and we need to use the right carefully.  How many people Rx narcotics for back pain or abdominal pain?  And if you do, how much do you dispense?  I have seen enough teens/young adults who were Rx'd narcotics from an ED for just that (back or abdominal pain) who came to my practice setting saying "it's not working".  Washington State also has a way to monitor Rx drug use and prescribing....I've used that website, have you?
